Parish Groups

SVP (St Vincent de Paul Society)

The St. Vincent de Paul Society meet in private homes. in some way. They organise the weekly Thursday Club for senior citizens.

Parish Finance Committee

Advise the Parish Priest on all aspects pertaining to the financial state of the parish. The Chairman is Jim Horsted, the members are Carol Farr (Secretary), Welsley Weekes (GIft Aid officer) and Jocelyn Horner.

Health & Safety Committee

To help comply with Health and Safety Legislation, we have a committee to help and advise. The members are: Marie-France Capon RN Cert-O.H.Dip, Sam Cobbina and Selwyn Jean-Baptiste

Musicians

Carol Smyth is our Parish Organist at the 11am Sunday Mass.
Jim Horsted, Mick Ryan and Colletta Ryan provide the music and voice at the 9am Mass.
We are pleased to have new members join to enhance the Parish Liturgy.

CHCF (Children’s Handicapped Fellowship)

The Children’s Handicapped Fellowship meet once a month in various parishes in the town for an afternoon Mass and get-together.

Monthly Coffee Morning

On the second Thursday of each month in the Social Centre after the morning Mass (courtesy of the Bereavement Group). All welcome

Sunday Morning Coffee

After the 11.00am service on Sundays coffee/tea is served in the hall. It is an ideal opportunity to meet fellow parishioners and visitors to the parish. Do pop in.

Thursday Club

Seniors from within and without the parish meet in the hall on Thursdays at 2.00pm for social activity. The sessions are run by The St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP).

Bereavement Group

Meet several times a year and plan visits to the recently bereaved. They also provide tea after the reception of the body into church or after the funeral (by arrangement). They hold an annual service to remember those who have died, followed by refreshments in the hall. The group also host a parish coffee morning after Mass on the second Thursday of the month.

Adoration

This Filipino inspired devotion is held in church on the second Friday of the month, 9.00 – 11.15pm. All welcome to come and spend time before the Blessed Sacrament.

Prayer Group

Catholics and non-Catholics meet in the Sacristy on Friday nights at 8.00pm for shared prayer. Refreshments served afterwards.

Rosary Group

Meet to pray the rosary twenty minutes before weekday Mass and also in peoples homes. See list in the porch for information.

Ramblers

The parish has a group that meets each month (4th Sunday) for a walk in the area nearby. They meet in the church car park at 2.00pm (except holiday time). The walk is usually 5/6 miles, 2 to 3 hours. They have been known to say a prayer on the way. Open to adults. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. See poster for details. The organiser is Jim Ashworth.

Parents and Toddlers

Meet in the hall during term time on Mondays at 9.15am. Come along for a tea and a chat while the children play.

Knights of St Columba

The Luton Council of the KSC meet in the Parish Centre on the first Thursday of the month at 7.30pm. New members are welcome to come along. Roger Smith is the Grand Knight.

Legion of Mary

You are welcome to join the Presidium which meets in the Sacristy on Monday nights, at 8.00pm. Refreshments afterwards.
